Caron smokes

I thought it might be time to give the girls their due.

I love the suit, and I love her. Then and now.

She apparently has an auberge in Burgundy these days- a splendid one!

You know, I actually ran across that site some time back. I love that she keeps working, keeps looking uncommonly, and appropriately, beautiful. And that she has the auberge as just reward!

Gene Kelly and Leslie Caron dancing in an imaginary Parisian fountain in Gershwin's "An American in Paris". Simply marvelous:

More than marvelous: it actually gave me chills. As much as I so often try to write about seduction, it's such a joy to...be seduced. Thank you, once again.

It's funny how she is much better known in America than in France. I bet hardly anyone there has heard of her.

I guess having Leslie as a first name would confuse people, that's definitely not a French name, and most of her movies were American made. The French would only have seen a dubbed version.

Weird isn't it?

And, not surprisingly, she's seen in the States as being quintessentially French. Right about her films: I'd never thought of that.
